Welcome! I’m Vanusa Barbosa, a Social Worker dedicated to providing compassionate, client-centered care to individuals and families across the lifespan. I have experience working in community-based, outpatient, and school-linked settings, supporting clients through a wide range of mental health and life challenges.
My approach to therapy is rooted in creating a safe, supportive, and collaborative environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered. I utilize evidence-based and trauma-informed techniques to help individuals build emotional awareness, develop effective coping strategies, and strengthen resilience. I believe that each person brings unique strengths to the therapeutic process, and I work alongside my clients to help them navigate challenges and move toward meaningful, lasting change.
I have a special passion for working with individuals and families impacted by trauma, substance use, and domestic violence, and I strive to provide care that is both culturally responsive and accessible. I am fluent in English, Spanish, Cape Verdean Creole, and Portuguese, which allows me to connect with and support a diverse range of individuals within our community.
