Hi, I’m Tara Nolan. I hold a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and a Master’s degree in Professional Clinical Counseling, both from Bastyr University in San Diego. My passion for integrating mental and physical health led me to engage in research on Epigenetics, Nutraceuticals, and Proteomics in Veterans with PTSD, collaborating with the Boston Veteran Affairs Administration, Boston University, and Oxford University.
I completed a 1,000-hour practicum in Community Mental Health, where I worked with a diverse population of children, adults, and adolescents facing trauma, displacement, and immigration-related stressors. My current practice takes an integrative approach, commonly utilizing Psychodynamic Theory, Humanistic and Holistic methodologies, Existentialism, and Narrative Therapy to support my clients.
Wellness visits are separate from mental health counseling visits; ethical guidelines discourage seeing my own mental health clients in any other role other than therapist. Wellness visits are not medical visits and should not replace your regular medical care. Wellness visits can focus on various health concerns that may need holistic support in the form of lifestyle changes, nutrition guidance, botanical or nutraceutical guidance, creating a supplement regimen, coaching around eating habits, sleep support, etc. Conditions may include: menopause, reproductive health, pre-conception, environmental exposure support (fire, smoke, hazards), gut health, digestive issues, acne, food intolerance, headaches, fatigue, mold exposure, chronic health conditions (MCAS) or general health optimization.
Labs and third-party tested supplements can be ordered for cash-pay prices directly from the company (not myself or the practice). Labs will be interpreted by a licensed healthcare provider.
