Hello! I’m Carla Torres, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with a rich background and extensive experience in the field of mental health. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Bridgewater State University and my Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from Cambridge College. Currently, I’m expanding my expertise further by pursuing a master’s degree in Health Care Administration from the University of Maryland Global Campus.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working as a therapist in various settings, including as a substance abuse and domestic violence counselor for the military. This diverse experience has equipped me with a deep understanding of complex issues and effective treatment strategies, allowing me to address a wide range of concerns with confidence.
As an affirmative therapist, I deeply value the importance of allowing individuals to define their own identities. I have a particular passion for working with adolescents and young adults who are navigating challenges such as depression, ADHD, anxiety, trauma, and school-related issues. Utilizing clinically tested and evidence-based interventions, I strive to offer an integrated therapeutic approach that is tailored to meet your unique needs.
In addition to my professional expertise, I’m fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, and Creole, which enables me to connect with a broad range of clients and provide culturally competent care. I’m excited to support you on your journey to healing and personal growth!
